Hi, I’m Cherie Park, your EMDR-trained psychotherapist and partner on this journey to healing your trauma.

Do you find yourself ruminating on past events? Are you experiencing nightmares or flashbacks? Do you have a hard time trusting people or yourself? Are you getting triggered frequently? Do you experience performance anxiety? Are fears holding you back from being your best self?

We will work together to dig deep and identify painful traumatic memories, both big T traumas and little t traumas and process them through bi-lateral eye movement. EMDR is an evidence-backed intervention that has been shown to safely and effectively reduce trauma symptoms.

Once we fully process these traumatic memories, you’ll notice a weight’s been lifted, you’re no longer disturbed by your past and you can finally move forward with confidence. More about me

Some examples of Trauma symptoms

Trauma can show up as anxiety, depression, disassociation, ADHD, insomnia, addiction, avoidance, numbness & emotional toxicity

Childhood Trauma

Childhood trauma can shape how a person understands safety, trust, and relationships long into adulthood, often influencing emotional regulation, attachment styles and self-worth. Even when the original events are in the past, their psychological and somatic echoes may continue to affect how individuals react to stress, attachment, and conflict.

Relational Trauma

One example of relational trauma is betrayal trauma, which occurs when someone is harmed by a person they depended on for care, protection, or emotional safety. It can result in crippling self-doubt, avoidance of closeness, profound loneliness, and chronic anxiety, as victims struggle between the desire for connection and the fear of being hurt again.

Workplace Trauma

Workplace trauma can occur in environments marked by chronic hostility, harassment, discrimination, or sudden critical incidents, leaving employees feeling unsafe, powerless, or devalued. Over time, it can lead to burnout, anxiety, diminished self-confidence, and difficulties trusting authority or organizational systems.

FAQs

How are the EMDR sessions conducted?

Weekly, 50 minute EMDR sessions are conducted online, ensuring convenience and accessibility for clients in Seattle and greater Washington State.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based psychotherapy designed to alleviate distress from traumatic memories. By using bilateral stimulation or guided eye movements while focusing on traumatic material, it helps the brain reprocess memories safely, reducing their emotional charge and negative physical reactions.

What commitment is required of EMDR?

EMDR therapy typically requires 6 to 12 sessions for many individuals, though this varies based on trauma complexity. The initial four sessions include history taking, resourcing and preparation. I offer a discounted rate for a 6-pack of session to encourage consistency and commitment.

What results can I expect from EMDR?

EMDR is an evidence-based practice which means it’s efficacy has ben widely proven in peer-reviewed studies. Many people notice an observable reduction of PTSD symptoms including fewer intrusive memories, less emotional reactivity to trauma reminders, improved sleep, healthier relationships and a greater sense of calm and control in daily life.

How much do EMDR sessions cost?

Single EMDR sessions are $120 each but a 25% discount is applied with a pack of 6 sessions to encourage commitment and continuity. Sessions are payable via Venmo, Paypal or Zelle. I don’t take insurance.

How do I start the EMDR process?

Simply reach out to us via my “Book a consult” page. I’ll schedule an initial free consultation to discuss your goals, answer any questions, and determine the best plan tailored to your needs.

How do I know if EMDR is working?

You’ll recognize the effectiveness of EMDR due to observable reduction of PTSD symptoms. You’ll notice that traumatic memories no longer feel disturbing to you. You won’t have as many night tremors or terrifying flashbacks. Releasing your trauma will reduce your anxiety, depression, maladaptive thoughts and distress.

Who can benefit from EMDR?

Most people with trauma can benefit from EMDR unless they are contraindications such as active psychosis, severe dissociation that has not yet been stabilized, active substance use or are in an immediate crisis where safety and stabilization need to come first.
